Spark Science Center is a second location of The Grace Museum that serves as an interactive exhibit space with a focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math). This space provides engaging learning experiences for all ages and includes both permanent and traveling exhibits for visitors to enjoy. There is also a special emphasis on careers in STEAM-related fields to inspire future education and career pathways.

With Oracle’s support, The Grace Museum is proud to announce free educational field trip admission to the Spark Science Center for all 5th grade students enrolled in Region 14 public school districts during the 2026-2027 school year.

Spark Science Center offers a large parking lot adjacent to the building, with entry from South 3rd Street. Handicapped parking spaces are available.
Exhibits
Biology & Medicine
The Biology & Medicine section invites visitors of all ages to explore how living things work, from the systems of the human body to the ecosystems that support life on Earth. Visitors can shape landscapes on an interactive sand table and step into a thrilling dinosaur experience, where a giant dino footprint rumbles and shakes beneath their feet. Hands-on activities spark curiosity about health, life, and the natural world.
Chemistry & Environment
The Chemistry & Environment section helps visitors discover how matter and weather shape our world. A life-sized periodic table, a hands-on weather experience exploring fog, hurricanes, and tornadoes form, and a molecule-building station make chemistry come alive. Interactive activities also show how chemistry is part of everyday life, from the air we breathe to the products we use.
Engineering & Technology
The Engineering & Technology section shows how people use their creativity to solve problems. Guests can explore a technology timeline, from a rotary dial phone to modern inventions, test structures on an earthquake shake table, experiment with simple machines, and build electronic models inspired by famous structures from around the world.
Energy & Physics
The Physics & Energy section invites visitors to explore how energy powers our world, from petroleum, wind, solar, nuclear, and geothermal sources to the forces that make things move. Guests can test their skills in a flight simulator, launch rockets in a rocket cage, and experiment with a plasma ball, a magnetic cloud, and circuit building. Interactive challenges make big ideas exciting and easy to understand.
Space & Astronomy
The Space & Astronomy area invites visitors to explore the wonders of the universe. Interactive exhibits show the life cycle of a star, a planetarium experience teaches why it is important to preserve the night sky, and a telescope simulation lets guests practice observing objects in space. Hands-on learning brings stars, planets, and galaxies closer than ever.
Careers & Outdoor Exhibits
The Career Connections area helps visitors discover exciting careers in STEM and how science and engineering are used in real jobs. Outdoors, a hands-on water table lets visitors explore how water moves and powers tools like a water wheel, Archimedes’ screw, and water jets. Nearby, interactive stations invite guests to experiment with sound, bubbles, Rube Goldberg machines, and test momentum by building and racing cars on a derby track. Interactive experiences connect learning to real-world problem solving and creativity.
